As snow and ice appear on stretches of our beautiful River, we at 1 Mississippi, are taking our seasonal cues.

Our focus is shifting to 2020 and planning how we can best work together with you, River Citizen, to protect and care for the land, water, wildlife, and people of the Mississippi River.

Big things for the River are coming! Thanks for being a River Citizen and welcome to the 1 Mississippi November 2019 newsletter!

The 1 Mississippi program is carried out by the Mississippi River Network (MRN) - a coalition of nearly 60 organizations working together to protect and care for the Mississippi River from Headwaters to Gulf.

This past month, the network convened in-person for three days in St. Louis, MO for the 2019 MRN Annual Meeting. It served as a tremendous opportunity for collaboration, critical discussion, and action items to move our shared efforts forward.

Curious what occurred and how discussions went at the 2019 Annual Meeting? Get up to speed by reading our recent 1 Mississippi blog with perspectives of the Annual Meeting from five MRN staff members!

Why are you a River Citizen?

River Citizens are the guardians and caretakers of the Mississippi River.

From armchairs and wading boots, we protect our River by speaking up on its behalf and caring for it in simple ways that make a big difference. Together, we are 1 Mississippi.
