River Citizen,
I wonder how you are and what Fall is like near you? What do you see, smell, or feel? Although we come from many places and are experiencing Fall differently, I'm grateful that as River Citizens we find common ground in our love and care for the mighty Mississippi River. Together, all of our individual actions make a big difference.

Looking for more? Here's a list of 10 actions you can take to help create a healthier River for people, land, water, and wildlife. What other ways should be added to this list? Email me. As Mark River Peoples says, May the River Be With You,

River Citizen 'rows' down the Mississippi...in Winter

"It was a little before 9 am on Valentine’s Day that I passed Lock & Dam Number 19 at Keokuk, and just a bit later that I rowed past the confluence of the Des Moines River with the Mississippi [...] the air temperature outside was -8 degrees F. I was wearing shorts and a tank top."

Earlier this year, Iowa River Citizen Melissa Serenda heard our question: how will you enjoy the Mississippi River this year? and took it in an unexpected direction. Read all about Melissa's adventure in her recently published blog. Have a River story to share? Email Michael.
