The Mississippi River is truly one of the great world rivers – a critical source of drinking water for around 20 million people from 50 cities, a diverse habitat for wildlife, the backbone of our economy and a rich part of our heritage. The Mississippi River unites us as a people and we rely on it more than most of us realize. Help us reach our year-end goal of $5,000. You may opt out at any time. There are no fees for this program, but your donation of $25 or more will help us cover costs. The Mississippi River Network (MRN) is fiscally sponsored by the Center for Rural Affairs. MRN is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization, and you may be entitled to a tax deduction in the amount of your contribution minus the value of any book you may receive ("Old Man River" $35, "Hear the River Dammed" $18.95). Both books were donated to MRN, so your entire donation will be used to support our programs.
